Rescue dogs get me every time

Looks happier on my picnic table than she did at the pound.
Berkeley, my latest rescue project.

We got our "Old Dog" at the pound almost 9 years ago. He was ready to be taken off the adoption list and be put down. Now at 12 years old, he's deaf and slow moving, but he's still the bestest dog ever. :)
Casey, in his usual position.

Rescue animals are the best. They really do seem to know you saved them. We rescued two female guinea pigs from terrible homes and they are the nicest critters, even after the abuse they suffered. They now live a life of luxury, their bedding is soft fleece. :D They deserve it though.

not all of them ........my umm dane? was not ....he kept taking off..figured he was trying to find "home" so when the pound wanted 200$ for picking him up after he got away for the last time i said keep him......im not cold hearted but that shit was going to keep finding ways to take off......when you cant trust a dog to stick around and the pound is going to DOUBLE it next time they get him..its time to let someone else try...pretty messed up when they want to charge you more to get a dog back than what you paid them to take him off there hands in the first place

stupid pricks and there heart string comercials...they dont give a shit about animals or them having a home.....they just want your money

I haven't had a bad experience with a rescue yet, though I know there are some bad ones out there. The guinea pig rescue that I went to was run by one woman who did everything herself, and really did love the animals dearly. She took care of 35 of them, and the place was absolutely immaculate. And the adoption fee was minimal, I actually donated extra because I know she paid for a lot of stuff out-of-pocket. My cat is also a rescue, and he knows he has it good. :D

All 3 of our cats are rescue critters, as well as the last three before them. Typical cats, they don't appreciate how good they have it now. :) Spoiled rotten, they are.
