motor trend tests the srt8 magnum

i just got my new motor trend and the new magnum srt8 is damn quick. 5.1 0-60 and a 13.1/108.2 quarter mile. it even bests the mercedes( e55 AMG) it is tested against in the slalom 67.1 vs. 64.8 and outbrakes it 60-0 112 ft. vs. 115 ft. the mercedes does do a 12.2 quarter mile/0-60 in 4.1. the good part is the dodge is 47,000 less than the mercedes lol. i know the verdict is split in this forum about the merger with daimler but with you have to admit dodge has a lot of exciting cars that they did not have a few years ago. im still waiting for my new challenger and i hate the fact that they killed plymouth(rather have a new 'Cuda) but there are silver linings to those dark clouds

Its funny that they compare those 2 particular vehicles because a friend of mine that runs car transport and just got through telling me that the e55AMG he just hauled to Arizona along with a few magnums will run circles around the dodge counterparts. Could someone be wrong here? [smilie=e:

i know both cars are station wagons. the mercedes whips ass on the magnum in the quarter but its also supercharged with 470hp compared to the dodge at 425hp.

Yah,, but what i found cool was that the J606 standards for the 426 Hemi (467 HP) is the same for the 6.1L Hemi if the J606 standard is used (467 HP).

As the article said, talk about history repeating itself.
