Motor mounts

Broken driver side. That sucked. Replacing the the pass side just because 'nowI'monafuckingmission' sucked also. Stupid hot rod car.:(

i hated changing motor mounts. i chained the left side of the engine down. after i broke the chain welded in a solid strap. 1"x3/16 mild steel. i bolted it to the block & welded it tto the K frame. About 500 hard passes at the track & still holding. still motor plates would be the way to go.

dont think ive ever replaced a passenger side mount except on my truck and my 58 ford...but ive ripped atleast 6 apart on my 69 2 on my 67 and 2 on another 67 i have... i useualy chain thru the mount on the engine side and around the k-member...its a fact of life..stock mounts get riped in half

I used the dyna-mounts or somesuch that have been modded like the one FF did. ALthough I think the FF design is the better one. :)
I only did the pass side to show that inanimate object just who was on top.
How come they don't run a through bolt on the top, to easy to break an ear?

"How come they don't run a through bolt on the top, to easy to break an ear ?"

Exactly ! I saw a guy try that one time and he snapped off the front ear...boy was he pissed ! I suppose you could use a spacer between the 2 ears to provide support, similar to the spacer used on the alternator between the 2 ears on the top (long) bolt. :hmmm:

I've never tried it though.....the 3 attachment points are plenty strong with grade 5 bolts (or better)....never had a problem, knock on wood !
