Today was a good day for the 66. [smilie=e:
Removed and cleaned the fuel tank (man was that thing nasty!!!)....Installed new sending unit and sprayed some undercoating on the frame rail where the tank resides.

Happy to report the fuel gauge is now working!!! [smilie=e:
On another note the carb is crap....next on the list is the Eddy 4 Bbl and stock intake I have waiting to go on it. [smilie=w:
That job was fairly easy so I moved on to the interior for a look see.
Next item that was addressed is the ugly focking steering wheel cover.

I proceded to ripping it off the wheel and flinging chunks of it across the shop.
While I was in there I took close notice of all the chrome bits of trim in this baby and next thing you know I spending over an hour with a can of chrome polish makin it all sooooooo purdy!!I was delighted with all the chrome trim and metal (not plastic [smilie=w: ) details in the dash of this car. [smilie=e:
There is still more chrome to polish in there but I was gettin giddy with the polish fumes. [smilie=e:
Anywho...here is an after pic.

Also found the reason why the seat pushed me into the steering wheel and headliner....the previous owner had in stalled 1" blocks of wood under the rear of the seat mounts to lift the seat up,out they came!. Also after a closer look at the seat mount I noticed that the seat position on the bracket was adjustable!!! Just loosen the 4 attaching bolts and slide the seat forward/back & up and down,NEAT!!!
I put it in the full rearword position and now there is plenty of room for my tall self!
BTW I am really liking this car!!!!!!!! [smilie=e: [smilie=e: [smilie=a:
