When the 2.2 liter enginewas first dreamed up, its designershad no idea it would eventually beat 200 horsepower;withless than 90 horsepower when launched,in line with most competitors, that would have seemed incredible. More incredible would be that same engine being put into a body which could outrun most muscle cars, yet be street-legal. Still, that’s what Warren Mosler, head of tiny automaker Consulier, did .
