Hey all,

This is my '79 Volare Duster project car. I traded an old pickup body I had for it. Overall its pretty solid, just has a junk 225. I've pretty much had a solid idea of what I wanted, though the initial plans have changed. Here are some pics of my starting point:

And this is why the engine is junk:

And, so people dont question that the car IS a real Duster:

Anyway, the initial plan was to pull the motor, then do the engine compartment with some help at the local shop. I'd buff the body out, then later on, repaint it. After the engien bay was done, I'd slam my cop suspension in it and then the 318 I'm going to use.

But, I have the opportunity to take a Body/paint course locally so thats going to happen. I'm just going to do the body all at once in the course of 11 weeks.

But, I still have to do some prep work myself before it goes to the school. I want to pull the motor and clean the engine bay out, including strip the wiring and everything else out. The Brake booster and MC are gone (MIA when I bought the car), so thats one step out of the way.

Stay tuned fore more pics as everything comes together.

Hell that slant'll prolly still run. [smilie=w:

By the way, take that course and good luck with this puppy.

It looks like you've got a decent starting point.
