Mirada-fied

Good time party boy
Here's my $700 beast in all it's glory. '81 Mirada, 318-2, auto on the column. The car made it home from the purchase city (about 2.5 hours north of where I live). Driving it the ONE day it would start, I found that the transmission (or a remote possibility the differential) will need to be replaced. Grinding and a wheel hop feel through 1st gear and grinding into second are the problems. Now onto it not starting.......I got it running and took it back up to the purchase city for a weekend with some friends. Didn't make it there. 5 minutes outside the city, the battery went and possibly hooped some wiring in the car as just before it went, the headlights went out, I had a sudden surge of power to the dash lights and blower motor then nothing. Popping the hood I found a smoking battery. Towed it to a friend's house and this past weekend (2 weeks after owning, driving it 3 times in total), I converted the ignition to electronic ignition to get rid of the Lean Burn. It still wouldn't start after this but I ran out of time to play with it anymore. Next weekend. All in all, gladly I got the car cheap enough that I can hopefully get it running and on the road again.
