Minor excitement

Yesterday I started the Duster after installing the throttle cable/kickdown linkage. I'd pumped a bunch of gas into the cylinders from working on that. When the car started I noticed a fire under the car reflected in the front of my workbench. It was gasoline in the headers burning. [smilie=2:

Yeah, but I turned it the hell off. :) The gas should be evaporated by now. I had hopes of tooling it around the block some, but then remembered the hood is laying on the roof and I had no one to help me put it back on.

I dropped my kids off a school one morning and this old chevy I was driving stalled leaving the school. I tried starting it for a few minutes, and when it did fire it blew the muffler apart, split it at the seam and wedged it to the floor boards and the street. Man did it make a noise, like a scene out of the movie Uncle Buck.

We took the Duster around the block tonight. Lord is that thing ever loud! Ordering one of the new Jeg's custom fit dual exhaust kits tomorrow.

Now all I have to do is replace that 7-1/4" rear.

Y'know, an early B-car 8¾'s a real close fit...

That would be my differential of choice for an A. Matter of fact my 74 Swinger needs one. Trade me for some back child support notices? [smilie=e: [smilie=e: [smilie=e:

I've got one already, needs cleaned up, the pig gone through, and installed. Getting the parts is never the problem here, it's getting the parts ready to install that kills me. :)

I've got a set of 340 springs for it too. :)

That's not a fuse, it's a blasting cap - all I have to do is step on it and KA-POW.

:D[/quote] Well then sell tickets to the event and we want PICS [smilie=e:
