Now, this is just a mock up.

Those decals are just printed on paper, are just placed there for the pictures and are not quite trimmed right.
The final will have waterslide decals and I'll trim them a bit better.
The colour quality will be better too as the waterslide decal paper is more like photo paper.

Shoot. I forgot to put the base under neath. It's black. As it should be.

Special thanks to Jass for the high resolution pictures of a real filter.

The filter image is printed on vinyl cling.

I put the switches in temporarily for the pictures. The knobs are just sitting in place over the holes.

Once I print and place the decals, I am going to coat the whole thing in Envirotex to seal it all in and give it a nice gloss finish.

Why"WAHLTER"? This is a fixed Wah pedal and afilter combined. Wah. Filter. WAHLTER... :D

From every angle, that filter part looks three-dimensional. I'm glad I could help out... it looks awesome!

Yep. I played with a few of the pictures trying to attach them together.

Then I realized that I should be considering the lighting. So, I made a point of having one highlighted area on each side and not have anything repeat on any given side.

What you see there is actually 4 copies of only a single picture attached to itself end to end - with every other image mirrored horizontally.
So, the end the first copy becomes the beginning of the second.
Doing ti that way gave me all kinds of ways to match up the image and the colours wherever there is a seam.

So, now that I've yapped it all out. I think I can explain it with a diagram.
I suspect you know exactly what I mean, but I'm explaining it to myself here more than anything. Indulge my OCD, please. :D

This represents what I worked with:

This represents what I did with it
--|||--|||--|||--

There's only three |'s in the middle because I overlapped one from each subsequent mirrored copy.

I had to copy each newly mirrored image because the end would change and I was overlapping them by a wide margin to help place those highlighted areas in the image in strategic places.

Thanks for reading. I feel better.

Aren't you glad you didn't ask? :D

the filter is scaled down..why not scale a v8 down and make an amp out of it?..a lil plywood or some tube steel...you could make a really cool setup doing that..bellhousing side for the speaker

I FINALLY decided that enough is enough and I'm going to call it done.

The Envirotex pour didn't go great, but it's done. I learned a lot which was the whole point. This was my first time using Envirotex. This was my first time using vinyl cling for graphics.

Here's a shot of the Envirotex pour - the first of the eventual 4.. Yeah. I obsess sometimes.

Anyway, I had a webcast to listen to all afternoon. So, I put this in front of me and wired it all up and assembled it.

Obligatory gut shots:
That's a little booty I made for the battery connector. I just cut the end off of the sleeve that swag pens come in. The felt-like things that make the $2 dollar pens feel like $1.50 pens.

And it works! I'll try and get a demo together once I figure out where the cool sounds are in all those knobs.

and a family shot to round things out.

Next one is already in the works. I just have to print out the graphics, apply them and put a top coat on it.
I'm also doing another SuperBoost for a "customer'. A friend from work saw the pics and wants one. I did this one in Envirotex and it came out nice

I have to thank 68R/T for the inspiration on the graphics.

I had the idea in my head, but couldn't find the patience to deal with the graphics program. He did some initial work to get the word boost in there and that was enough of a "boost" to get me going on the rest. I tweaked his work a bit, and there ya go.

I'm just finishing up another one for a friend.
I covered this on in envirotex and I think I've got the process figured out enough to use it for every pedal from now on.

I might even disassemble my SuperBoost and Blump-A-Lump and coat them.

What's the other one with that Hemi on it? I don't recall seeing that one. I like the way the Wah turned out, also. I remember you trying to get the air filter graphic right.

That's the "Blump-A-Lump"

It's a digital delay and ping-pong echo.

I called it that because to me, an idling muscle car goes "Blump A Lump Lump Blump Lump Lump Lump". :D

Man are those cool. I actually thought it had the air cleaner mesh and paper around it...Well done!! :2thumbs:

I used a delay back when I played guitar and had quite a bit of fun with it. Now with the bass it doesn't fit. What does though is a bass chorus effect that I use. It adds alot of depth where you need it like if you're playing a song with a slow break in it. There's standard chorus effects for the guitar also, you should look into that and see how you like it.

I've got a few more to build. I don't think I have a chorus kit though.

I do have a chorus already. A Danelectro. It's fun. But I do want to build one and put my own twist on the graphics..

Those are basass! you've got some good ideas going there! I painted a couple mopar themed target guns once, turned out pretty moparian!,,lol keep up the good work!!
