You've all heard my voice for almost 10 months now, so I will say it again.

I have to say, my parents won't budge on this whole car condundrum. I'm really not happy about it anymore, especially when you factor in that I HAVE chosen a car that I know and they know is a veritible brick in accidents: the M-body. They refuse to accept that it's not a tin can that crumples when hit at low or high speeds. I refuse to accept their views because I have had it with them. I have told them it has a driver air bag and that it is as far as i want to go. The result? Mayhem. They are violating my right of choice. They are also violating my decision by not letting me sign a damned title for a car that they know that I will be happy with. I bet that when I sign a title for a Diplomat, they'll push my pen away from it and towards a title for a crown vic, something that i refuse to accept.

Please support my decision...please?

what does that have to do with anything. my friend's 16, but he doesn't have a permit, lives at home around the corner from me, is a freshman like me, and has a 66 mustang 6-cyl. I feel left out and also angered that my parents don't have respect for my interests.

When you're 18, move out and buy what you want. Until then, you're living under their roof. Get over it.

A young Man must learn to be patient. Your folks are looking out for you, they have got you this far. Maybe you owe them a little trust.

I aint sayin' I'm just sayin' [smilie=e:

Listen. I do their bidding, and I normally don't complain. But this car thing has been going on since I was thirteen and met my friend.

I will buy my own ride when I move out after graduation, but my parents still want to have a say in my purchase!!!!

and it's only because I'll be on their insurance...why the heck should they complain?

I looked up a lot of stuff on insurance and Ms are cheaper than Crown Vics and Caprices, not to mention her van (the great white turd).

OK.

Screw it. I'll get a caprice. They are quite nice, and the corvette engine will satisfy me for a time.

One more question, which is being exposed to all:

What difference in MPG will be seen if an LA 318 2bbl is given a Magnum job? I would bet it would be a slightly positive upswing.[smilie=e:

What he said. [smilie=e: I bought my 68, 440 charger with my own money at 16 in 1976 and my dad went ballistic!. "What the hell did ya buy the old gas hog for!?" "What a waist of money"
At 17 I packed all my clothes and moved to Colorado to live with my oldest brother, Finished high school here and never looked back.
Fuggin first wife convinced me we needed to sell the charger to support first kid.........................We didn't..............1 of many Reason's why she's an ex Mrs. Gio.
My Dad came out last April for a long weekend and asked what was under the car cover in the garage.........Off comes cover and he says " Still got a thing for them old Dodge's Huh?" [smilie=e:

Ok, ok. I said I stopped. I'll go for a 9C1 Caprice, and then, its' "mopar or no car"

Quitcher Bychin.

When i turned 16 I wanted a Dodge Intrepid 3.3, V6.

Instead, i got a 92 Spirit with a 2.5. Not exactly what i wanted, to say the least I didn't complain, i drove it. It got me from point A to point B.

This summer i'll be working full time and hopefully be putting some money towards a car of my choice.

Your not even close to 16 yet, so while you wait... here's something to help you prepare.

take advantage of what your parents let you have. I am still driving their idea of a car. I may not like it, but my insurance is cheap as hell under their name. If it wasnt for them i would be paying around $4000 for insurance a year. right now i am paying $1000 so i thank heaven that i keep my 3 grand and put it towards rent, food, and beer. and scrounge what money i have and save like a bad ass! trying to save for something better.

then i decided to go back to school [smilie=b:

I got the boot in the butt at 15 and lived in my car that didnt run while it was parked at a friends house. Had 3 part time jobs and went to high school until I quit and joined the military. Try that if you dont like your current 3 hots and a cot dooooood. [smilie=e:
