Well, just a minute ago I got done spending some money on E-bay on a new camera and accessories. The reason why is because my school has now made the deal official, $1,000 check for usuable pictures for their adds. I could stand to get some more since they are expanding thier adds in other various media other than magazines and one website. The total amount I spent on a new D50 and accessories is $664.95 total. Not bad since I'll be getting the camera, charger, two batteries, two lenses (both range at retail around $1,000 a piece), three filters, card reader, weather proof "Nikon Branded" case, information recovery disc, cleaning kit, "micro fiber cloth", LCD protectors, tripod....and I think thats it...there maybe one more thing I missed, but I think that was all.

I could have spent some extra cash and got a SD card with it, but I already have a small one I can use to get used to this camera, plus I still have a few more months before I leave, so I don't need a big one yet.

On top of my recent purchase, I just got an e-mail from the local UPS asking me to come in for an interview and tour (did I get it already?), plus I will be working in a factory as well. So part-time as a package handler at UPS making eight something an hour, and the same at the local factory I was working at before. I'll be a little wore out, but I really have no reason to sluf off this summer because of my trip to Japan and I may stay another semester, which means more money is going to be needed.

So, I might not be one here as often like before, but I might add some more photo's to my Flickr gallery as time comes. I can't wait to get my D50 :giggedy: .

So indeed, I have a feeling I'll be wore out, tired, cranky, but I'll have money in my pockets and a four to six month adventure on the horrizon waiting for me, so I know this will be worth it. :)

Perfect! Let me give you some REALLY good advice.....

When I bought the camera I was pissed cause it took forever to write the picture...I went in to the shop I bought it at and they pointed out that the card was slow, not the camera. BUY a FAST SD card!!! the difference is HUGE!

Enjoy!! :)

good luck kid....best thing in life is to travel when your young--good luck with it
