Yeah but in Broward County (South Florida), most of the bad guys have a bigger budget than the SO, so they tend to have faster cars. Though the deputies on Cops will look cooler.

Wait til my cop buddies see this. Those guys still haven't lost their Charger wood.
 
They will call for a crown vic to do the TVI's before that pretty boy gets a sniff of any danger.:D

It's the same thing with Chargers, soft flimsy fenders and bumper covers make horrible TVI cars.

TVI= Tactical vehicle intervention.
 
Cops don't care about TVIs, they care about pasty-white doughnut-fed ass room in the seats... which is why the only way you could get a Charger with a bench seat and a column shift (at least for the first couple years) was if you ordered the police package. They also want cars far more capable than they are; the cop Impala is limited to 118MPH and can't be ordered with the V8 available in the SS; the Crown Vicky is outdated and can barely breach 125 per, wallowing like a pig the whole way (that chassis is over 20 years old). Having a 150+ "barrel extension" like a Hemi Charger or Challenger just feeds on the same ego as letting them carry a gun and "be" the law.

As with the Mustangs and Camaros of yore, and even the odd Corvette, it's more about making a statement than it is about actually catching someone. Cops rely on the old adage "You can't outrun the Motorola" more than they do horsepower and driving skills. Yet I know several people that have outrun the radio, including one person who outran 3 departments in two states in less than 5 minutes. :toot:
 
The troopers here call to see if a CVPI is available for bumping first, I know, I am the one who pays for the damage's to troopers cars in CO.

The Chargers speed give's them a chubby but they know not to go to the TVI unless it's really needed.

They will run 151-155 even at altitude up here:clap:
 
and this...is why i love the washington cops..they run what they impound....that red turbo volvo behind you is a k9 unit..that white mudstain over there pay it no mind till its lights come on...and that escalade beside you that roars like a tiger ya its a cop too..and every one of em unmarked

imo cops should be in the fastest most durable thing they can...or they need to strike the perfect fear..and well washington has done just that..you dont know what and where a cop is half the time so you are less likely to do anything stupid

most cops around here are great ppl....yall let a few bad apples sour it
 
around here ... we have sammich ... he tears up the neighbourhoods with a vengence :) who needs fast cars when you have sammich on call?
 
The mental image of Sammich tearing up a neighborhood is very similar to the parking enforcement guy from Van Wilder or a cross between him, Roscoe P. Coltrane, and Barney Fife.

I don't know. I think one of those in your rear-view mirror would get most would-be runners to 'pull it over'. To me, those things just look menacing and one never knows if it's had some enhancements.
And I bet the cops love doing the monitoring thing.
