so...fore safety sake ive been hunting for some new skins....remember the car has 50k ORIGINAL miles....and was parked around 75ish till i got it in 93...and i never got to drive it till 00 for all of 5 miles..then later got a 312 and it all went from there

anyway it got NEW tires in 1972...ive NEVER put air in them.....thats an atestimate to good old rubber.."falls persuader"..side walls cracking and old bias plys they are a lil scary in the corners..but is velvete smooth in the straights

i found a set of lightly used fronts for 70$....and figured....since i had the wheels off id get some new lugnuts to go with the AMC wheels that were on it when i got it...as well as toss on those cragger center caps and see how it changes things up......well...imo the centers not only made the wheels cleaner and make em just POP...but they look really expensive..atleast to me

so whats yalls thoughts on the centers?

Looks good. I like the new chrome lugnuts and the cragger center caps. Can't say I've seen a set of those cragger center caps before.

I prefer the originals, though they're very AMC-ish. The Chrysler centers are a cleaner style than both (like the ones on my LeBaron when I bought it).

It kind of looks like the lug nuts seat on those Cragar caps rather than the wheels themselves. If that's the case, I wouldn't use them on a wheel for which they weren't specifically designed. I've never seen a set of those center caps either.

the lugnuts have to be "oversized" acorns to keep from pulling thru the caps...the nuts bottom out on the wheel just fine but the oversized angle grabs the centercap...its a weird setup for sure.....but the fact that ive never seen a set before..and something tells me no one here has either just means that its less likely anyone else who sees the car will have ever seen a set...LOL

your right tho doc the mopar versions are a lil nicer....but i aint got a set of them...the amc ones tho imo are to "square" for the 58 fords rounded body
