Ohhh, there'd be lots of heat in that car, for a short amount of time anyway. Without that G belt, the aircooled VW engine ain't getting any air or cooling.

I've seen that done before. Never tried it tho'. You'd still need to adjust the belt, so its not a sure-fired fix for any length of time.
