well i got the slimy pig out and as you can see by the pic's it made a real purty mess of everything...now for the bad news allready picked up a tranny that was supposed to be a "turbo" unit and well wreckers need to pull there heads out of there asses as they say turbo and non turbo trannys are the same:dgt: they may "look" similar on the outside but a turbo unit is NOT a lockup unit as well as beefyer internals...even with the 30day warrenty they give with the unit they want a 25% restocking fee for there mistake:mad:...wish i had all the #s to run "befor" i went hunting

Not possible for wreckers to know the difference in parts of all makes and models. Now, if the transmission was knowingly removed from a non-turbo van and they sold it as a turbo trans, that's a different story.

looks like the diff pin let go. i had a hole about that size in my neon r/t after i missed 3rd powershifting at the dragstrip. my car still drove on the trailer and off at the dealership lol. i lost the replacement tranny 12k later but it was never right. so far i got like 40k on this tranny and 100k on the car and so far so good(knock on wood) :)

The diff pin definately went south....then north...then south again...etc.
were you pushing that thing hard when it let loose?

rather pissed to say no i wasnst...i was driveing like a good lil boy :doubt:...course i beat on the turbo quite regularly..and am looking onto a lsd for it

when i got to the wrecker i didnt entirely know what to look for to identify a tranny...however i was told it was pulled from a turbo duster..hmm ok so i belived that ..after getting it home i notice the tag on it says 92 sundance(no sundances in 92 were turbo equiped)..funny thing is now that i have the mini tranny out there is a 2x3 sticker on the gear cover that says on an orange sticker TURBO...so far all of the non turbo trannys ive seen all have the same green sticker NOT the orange one

Look on the pan rail for a series of numbers stamped into it, that will be the part # for the trans, and we can figure out what it came from from that. The #'s should be on the rail juas above the pan on the side opposite the converter (drivers side) might look something like this: R4659076AB the "R" may or may not be there, but the 7 digits and 2 letters should be there there might also be other #'s there.Let me know what you find.
