Jeep GCL taillights

Fishy

Omnipotent Seaweasel
I need a drivers side taillight assembly for my 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I ordered one from Advanced Auto Parts an d it was the light from the body style previous to mine. That one was $58. The correct one they wanted $140. I don't think so!!! Well the cheapest I can find one up here is about $125. There are no Jeeps of my body style in any yards up here so if someone comes across one or has one they wouldn't mind getting rid of, PLEASE let me know. Just let me know what you want for it and how much shipping will be and I'll send out a check. All I really need is the driver side but if someone has a set for a decent price I'll take both.[smilie=:: Here's a few pics of mine.

That looks like a ticket getter. When I did the 91 ram 50 for my daughter I needed one for it. Come to find out a toyota assembly fits right in with a slit 3/8 gas line wrapped around it. I bet a ford ranger would be close to working on yours that way. Just a thought.

Thanks Greg!! That ain't too far off what I paid for the wrong one :D
Yeah Da-Ho it prolly is a ticket getter but I've been lucky so far! Long story short, landlord didn't salt driveway like he said he would in the rental contract and my truck got sideways backing out of the driveway (about 20* angle to the driveway) and got into a tree. I tried steering out of it, dumping it into 1st and punching it but nothing.....that tree was destined to eat my bumper and take a taillight with it. My girlfriend and neighbors got into our landlords face(litterally)about alot of things, my truck being one of them and all he said was, "Don't you know how to drive?" It took a bit of restraint not to ram my forearm down his throat at that point but the next day he was out there with his plow and salt spreader. Gonna patch my bumper back together as it's still in good enough shape to do so. Will replace the bumpers later. Thanks again for the help guys!!:giggedy:

Might consider a piece of pipe bent around there instead of plasic, next time you bump into something the lense might live.:hmmm:

Well I ordered one from that link greg340 put up. Been thinking about a brushgaurd for the front as well as the light guard thingies for the tail lights. I've seen em more so on Wranglers but also seen a few for my style Cherokee. Next year's tax return will go into the rig and beef it up a bit...those will be the first things to get beefed up a bit.

lol well 69 the prob with that is when I do eventually come back to Oregon for my stuff I won't have the Jeep with me:( Depending on shipping (I'd pay it of course) I could send you the measurements you'd need along with reference pics and we might be able to work out something from that?? If I had a welder and knew how to weld (hell if I had the $$$ I'd go out and buy a wirefeed and teach myself) I'd make alot of custom crap for this thing:dance:
Nerf bars, light bars, brush guards, skid plates....etc.....oh the things I wanna do to this thing lol:D

Outta curiousity I checked into the Ranger taillight idea....they ain't big enough :D These XJ taillamps are bigger than they look. Was a good idea though.

Pssst....the auction I posted is cheaper than anything else I could find on the internet ;)
Yeah I saw that but by the time I saw your link I had already ordered it from Gregs link. I don't really even think to look on Ebag because I never go there unless I'm really, really bored.

Just hate to see you get pulled over is all. Some truck stop sealed units with duct tape would at least be somewhat legal. Blending into the crowd with nothing out of the ordinary is the best.

Speaking of blending in, you think I'll get pulled over for not having a rear bumper on it? Need to JBWeld a mounting stud back into place but the package says "Works best above 50*F" and well.....in's nowhere near that warm :D Gonna frankenstein the bumper back together for now but can't mount it till I get that stud fixed.

 Forgot the pic of the mounting stud. It's still on there but only hanging on by paint lol ok well maybe a sliver of metal too lol. DIdn't think of the trouble light to warm it up a bit, thanks :)
