Hey all,

Got me two going on at once. Actually, one is kinda forced, as I really need to clean up my yard. But, here we go:

I brought in a Volare Duster last year with ablowed up Six. It is pretty nice, not all rusty like they are, buckets/buddy seat interior that is also pretty nice other than the dash and part of the carpet. Last weekend I got the drag race bug and decided to put my Police E58 360 in the car to play with. I jerked the Slant K-member and threw in a V-8 one. Since I had torn it down to bare K, I had to re-assemble the suspension. I substituted my Cop box and bar for the stock '79 Aspen parts.

I'm also putting the big brakes off the '80 Gran Fury cop car (yeah its the motor donor). I've got to shrow the steering linkage back on it and then finish the sway bar. After that its brakes and then the motor. in front of a 904 trans.

I'll try and get pics up.

I havent really brought the next one in, but I have brought in the donor for it! The project is a 1/2 ton '84 SWB 2wd Truck. The thing isnt bad but has no title. Thats no biggie really, as I'll slap daddy my '86 Donor cab in. Yeah thats what the donor is, another halfer, '86 Royal SE LWB thats pretty well worn. Front clip is beat, but it has a nice pass. fender for my '89 and the core support is useable for the project.

Doors are nice, cab is nice as can be, bed also isnt bad but has rust out above the wheel trim.

The frame and bed are going to be used as a pickup bed trailer.

Pics of it dismantled will also be posted soon!

so....let me get this straight here. your truck has no title, so your gonna put a donor cab in? you realize you'll still have a truck without a title right? no title means not drivable on the street. UNLESS of course by saying you'll "slap daddy your 86 donor cab in" means your implying using hte 86's title, which would then technically be Illegal I do beleive. kinda like rebodying a car? anybody else feel this way?

yep. everybody on that other board. [smilie=e:
I feel if that is what he wants to do, go for it, I'll still sleep at night knowing my car is legal... [smilie=e:

Technically yes it would be. [smilie=e:

Personally I don't really care.....It's a friggin pickup, just one step away from tractor

*Chews on piece of hay*

Give 'er hell Jamie. :D [smilie=a:

Well crap, a friend of mine that I had a falling out with bought that '84 out from under me! Oh well, life goes on I guess. I've got the '86 dismantled and the cab is on the ground. I still need to pull the motor and trans and then a neighbor is going to help me build the trailer.

But, does that leave me without a project? Not a chance. I've had this other '86 SWB bare frame with rear springs and a partial front suspension setup out here for about 6 months and thats what that cab is going on. I drug it out and mocked up a '73 8 3/4 under the back and am hoping to get the front suspension in place next week so I can roll it around.

Yeah I'm gonna have to scrounge a bit to get some of the parts I need but I've got the majority of them already.

I dont know how things go in your state but here in Idaho you just get a deputy out to verify the VIN and do an assembly title. It will have a state assigned VIN and the other one doesnt matter any longer. I did this a few yrs ago on a F 9000 at work and we never did find the original VIN anywhere on the vehicle but the purchase was well documented with noterized bill of sale from the county commisioner who had purchased it at an auction. You should be able to go to your local department of motor vehicles website for info in your area. Personally, if it was me I would use the title you have with the cab that matches it if it doesnt have to go through a safety lane at DOT they will never know. Theres always a confidential VIN located somewhere on either the core support or frame somewhere in the front usually depending on the year. I know on 69 road runners its on the core support drivers side on the bottom. If you are good with a wirefeed you can weld the old number stamp sequence to the new part and grind it off and make it all pretty but its better to jump through the hoops and do it by the book. Good luck with it. [smilie=e:

"I know on 69 road runners its on the core support drivers side on the bottom."

Drivers side top, state trooper showed me on mine. and the right side trunk lip too.

Driver's side trunk lip on a 70.

I've been told before that both front and back stampings are on the driver's side for all 68-70 B's. Are you sure that yours is on the right side?
