Finally obtained some usefull and seemingly viable infomation to explain the "Immaculate conception" of our baby Ball Python.

Click here for one of the many articles I have found on the subject.

It seems to appear my Ozzy is the first (that we know of?) ball python to concieve in this manner.
We will be contacting the local college for some possible assistance with this phenomenon.

Awwww, looky the lil bugger is out and about.. [smilie=e:

No doubt! I was suprised how big it is, I have yet to measure her but she looks to be about 10-12 inches long.

I'm assuming it's a female, there is a way to tell but I have yet to research that...

Thank God Jester can't reproduce in this way! [smilie=e: :D

beeper - really neat info!! Never heard of this before - well maybe Michael Jackson of something weird, but this is neat. any ideas on numbers of instances that are local?

-and to avoid any future suspicion, make sure no one takes a picture of you in a straightjacket or putting a sweater on before your arms are in the sleeves. The court of public opinion is just as strong as DNA testing.

Thats our 6pk! Always thinking. :D

She is getting ready for the first shedding, it should occur in the next day or 2 as her eyes have just clouded. Once she has finished that it's time for the first feeding....If all goes well I plan to contact the local college for some help with a possible DNA test to see if parthenogenesis is what occured here.
