It's been a month, so...

This is an easy one... to what event involving whom does Filter's song, "Hey Man, Nice Shot" refer?

Todd Bertuzzi's cheapshot on Steve Moore.... Even though the song came out before that.

:bravo:

Many think it's about Kurt Cobain but I have heard the singer say it was about that Congressman or whatever he was that shot himself on the Senate floor or where ever it was. :shifty: Exact names or political buildings escape me.

That's right.

It was Dwyer in PA. That's about all I can remember though.

Close enough... Pennsylvania Treasurer Budd Dwyer, who had been convicted of taking a bribe of approximately $300,000, shot himself in the mouth with a .357 Magnum during a live televised press conference at which he once again maintained his innocence in the case.

Because he'd not yet been sentenced, the conviction was not "on the books" at the time of the suicide, which means he'd not yet been officially removed from office. As such, by dying in office his wife was able to collect his state pension (he'd been a state legislator prior to the treasury job), worth approximately $1.25 million. This is the most-likely reason for the suicide, though he was facing up to 55 years in prison on his conviction.

If the song had been about the wildly-overrated Cobain, it would have been called "Hey Love Nice Shot." :D
