It LIVES!

exhalted master of his nuts
The old 383 runs out beautifully in the old Charger...hard to envision...a car that has sat inside for over 27 years, firing up and idleing. who woulda thought? [smilie=e: Quite honestly, it runs wonderfully quiet too! Needs an exhaust, as one would imagine, but is surprizingly quiet!
Damn I am pleased. I just assumed I would have to do a full rebuild. :) Many thanks to Mike and Gary at My Classic Autobody in Point Edward! Great job guys! [smilie=e: [smilie=e:

Getcha motor runnin-head out on the hiway-lookin for adventure-in whatever comes our way.Are you born to be wild yet?Go look for that kid with the 300 and blow his doors off with that instead. [smilie=e:

Those 383's are great. [smilie=e:

*looks lovingly at engine collection.*

Remember to use lead substitute in the fuel unless you re-do the heads. [smilie=w:

Congrats Jon, I knew a guy years back that fired up a 440 that had sat outside but covered after 8-9 years, we watched half arsed stunned when it lit and didn't knock, squeek and the oil pressure shot right up like it was last week.

So?, like?, your not doing any welding to this car are you bud? [smilie=e:

:D

alway's makes it seem like the purchase is sweeter, when they crank right up after a long hibernation! Good to hear!

383's are great engines. I drove hard on mine for more then 5 years and she is still tight. I did get ride of the points distrubter though and put in a MSD one in, that and the 6AL box ( I think thats the one [smilie=e: ) Best move I made on that motor.
