Cars have become utilitarian transportation devices - nothing more. To get excited over that would be like getting turned on by a toaster or slice of bread.

[FONT=Arial, helvetica, sans serif]120V version toasts 300+ slices/hour; 208V and 240V versions toast 600+ slices/hour....

Now that's a toaster!!!!

It's not so much the bread or the toaster by themselves but the wonderfull results when the two merge.
No denying the joy of toast fret you not.

And yes one could smear a dabble of said conveyance device upon that toast resulting in...wait for it..............you know where this is heading....

yes indeed, crap on toast. :)

i do like the front clip forward of the wheelwell as well as the hood.....

it looks like a lotus elise, 350z, sabb, benz, solstice, saturn

*sigh*

Nobody's gonna believe this......

....but I kinda like it....

I don't think it looks too bad - matter of fact I think it's the first car the whole "catfish/angry eyes" look Daimler-Dodge-Benz is so fond of actually looks OK on.

With the four cylinder/manual trans/RWD thing, it looks like it might be a light, fun little car to drive. Word id that if it were produced, it would be released as a "working man's sportscar" starting at about $15K U.S.

I do wish they hadn't called it that tho.:(

I guess it doesn't much matter - now that Daimler has sucked everything they wanted from the company and are looking to get out, there won't be a Chrysler to release the thing even if they wanted to...

It just SCREAMS Viperized Honduh S2000 to me. The ass half is ALL Nissan 350Z with an Audi TT rear light panel. Side shot looks like a BMW Z4 to me as well. I like the 350Z but to call this thing a Demon?? I'll agree with Nodda that the "catfish/angry eyes" works on this car but that's based on my Honda comment above. No doubt it would probably be a scream to drive but I'd hate to be seen in one. [smilie=f:

That's pretty much the same thought I had. Scary huh? :D I don't know where the designers get this idea that the cross-hair grille looks good on EVERYTHING. I think the only thing I like it on is the older Rams and the Viper.

Yes it was known and a fresh serving is yours....

*Squeals with delight*

Ooooo, yes, yes. I shall just nibble around the edges then engorge on the center with pleasure.

Tomorrow we shall dine again, once recycling has been completed.

That's the bestest of bestestness of crap on toast. All you need is bread and a method of browning it, the crap replenishes itself. And if not, Damn-it-ler Cripe-ster is more than willing to provide a never ending supply of crapsicles with 4 wheels.
I'm praying they allow the Challenger to escape the craptory intact as the prototypes. But one knows they have their craphooks ready willing and more than able to out crap the crappiest crapfest craptactularly.

Hmm, interesting you said that, you hated my gagnum (I'm telling ya, it hauls the bacon :)) but would you actually buy a new chally? Pure curiosity.:hmmm:

Buy one? a12, I'm married with 4 kids at home and none even have the slightest interested in where the door is or how to open it if they get there. So to buy a new car is completely out of the question.

I've heard the Chally will be in the $45K USD range, when it comes out and there are rumors that the first batch are commanding a $12-$20K premium just to be first on the block to get the recall plagued versions.

The styling of the Challenger is at least a breath of fresh air from the masses of cookie cutter, cross haired grilled things Ma, or should I say Damn-Ler has been tossing out.

But buy one? A 1970 Challenger is one of my favorite looking Mopars. I am sure that even when the 2007-2008-2009 or whenever this one comes out I will be able to buy a 1970 version for less coins than a new one. And I would sooner have a 1970 than a 2007-2008-2009 any day of the week.
For daily utilitarian motion machines I use a Turdcel and a Upchukundai. Why? Mileage! I am only going to work or Home Despot or Crappy Tire so why use a good car. And if I want to drive a nicer car, open the garage. Many times I have said I have little to no interest in new cars. I don't - simple. To me cars died around 1974. And those last 3 years are on shakey ground. When chrome bumpers, square brick styling, the dirty, loud, wasteful hemi stopped being on the option sheet- the party ended.

The 2007-2008-2009 Challenger is different from the other offerings from Damn-Ler. Much like getting a swift kick in the nuts every three minutes. One day for a change you get a kick in the head. Now isn't that better? There - my analogy for the Challenger. I'll never have a 2007-2008-2009, unless its a lottery win. To take money and buy one of those, when I can buy a 10 or 15 year old crapfest for $700-$1000 and put the rest into a fun car - well there is how I am about it.

Analyze that.

I have no interest in new cars.

It was inevitable that technology has advanced the automobile in all areas and handling, acceleration, top speed, build quality, many festooned accoutrements are available or standard are part of the cars of today. If we didn't advance that doesn't speak well for humankind.....well greenhouse gas and global warming are nasty byproducts for the lifestyle we have chosen.
But as far as new cars -I just don't like them. Again gimme the 2000 Turdcel and some coins to buy Dart or Super Bee or 'cuda parts.

Apologies to all the new car lovers and others that may be offended by the rantings of a naysayer- but my love for the automobile is stuck back in time. For me the new things are conveyance devices - nothing more. The cheaper I can convey and piss off the gas companies by refueling less, the better.

Gee, I'm hoping that wasn't meant as a FO type statement, but I can appreciate your point.
Myself, I'm on call 24/7 so I kind of need a newer car just for the reliability factor. I _hate_ to drive, (do battle with retards), I prolly spend 15 hours a week commuting, I'm not wedging myself into a small car for 2-3 hours a day. 22 mpg, I can live with that and having the power to get away from the drunks and idiots is a plus. I'll add I spend no money on 'mods' for my driver cars, no wheels, no bags or suspension, no chips or cai's, pure transportation.
They really need to bring back the build-it-my-way of doing things instead of this package bull crap. Adds huge $ to the price. There is so much crap on my car I'll never use but had to pay for just to get the few things I did want.
New challenger? Maybe after magnum is paid for.
Besides you could just sell the rag cuda and get 3 new challengers. :)

No no no - it was not a FO statement at all. It was an honest statement that here is an idiot that will spend the rest of his days forever buying many year old conveyance devices to avoid large coins for something that has no interest other than basic transportation. And the furthest I travel in my own conveyance devices is about 15 miles to work - all through populated areas. So breaking down is at worst a minor inconvienance. However the 9 year old crapmobiles have been stellar in delivering reliable conveyance for a mere pittance of coins. Oil, filters, tires, and a broken door handle has been the sum total of costs. Well the Turdcel threw an O2 sensor code. I was told by several buddies that the generic ones don't work for the Turdotas and require the factory one. $420 for a Turdcel O2 sensor -ummmm no thanks
I cleared the code in it and it has been working perfectly since.

And if I did trade the cuda - it would be for 1970 Challenger. No new conveyance devices. And even in 2017-2018-2019 when I would look at a 2007-2008-2009 Chuglenger, I wouldn't get it as it wouldn't give the miserly mileage I want from these things.
A buddy is all wet over getting one. I can take his out and beat it. He did have a hemi Magnum and I beat it a few times, but ..................

And I much much much prefer a 1970 Challenger over a 1971 cuda, rag or not. Missed a deal on a 383 R/T SE 383 with a weak transplanted 440 a while ago. Ass is still sore from the kicking.

Why does everyone say "Damn Lear" this and "Damn Lear" that? What have I ever done to you? I mean besides type some miserably lame jokes on these boards.:toot:
