Interesting 4x4 cars

LOL the yugo looks like a total tonka toy

that triamph looks like someone put alot of engineering hours into makeing it as correctly done as posible

love the maro sandrail

WOOF on that baby honda....corners would be wet and messy

i only like the ones that are done "correct" any more..the simple bolting of one frame to another is rather distastefull...but full on mergers are welcomed

Oughtta redo the Beast! That was fun,.....except for the almost getting squashed like a bug and death scares:bwuhaha:

I don't see anything wrong with it. It's kind of cool. If 4 wheeling is your thing then go for it.

I get bent out of shape when anyone mods a rare classic, but somehow I doubt a lot of these started out as clean numbers-matching cars.

Pro-streeting pisses me off more than 4by conversion because at least the 4X4 stuff gets used! Nothing makes me hotter under the collar than reading about some pro-street crap that's never made a run down the track.

AMEN!:giggedy:

Back when I was just out of High School and dinosaurs roamed the earth, there used to be events called mud flings. Not like the so-called mud racing of today where hot rodded dune-buggies skip over the water, but a deep pit of mud where highly modified 4x4's would get down & dirty. Those who made it through in the least time (or at all) won.

These things were more like monster trucks with skinnier tires than a typical lift kit 4X4, and they had oodles of horsepower.

The coolest ones tho were the ones with car bodies rather than the typical truck. I remember a 'glass deuce coupe, - a 40 something chevvy sedan and a GTO.

Best of all was a hemi orange 69 or 70 roadrunner...

Fun events to attend. When a rig got good n' stuck, the crowd got just as dirty as he did. That wouldn't happen these days...

They still have that type event here nodda, one in the spring and another in the fall are held at a tavern located out in the country. The home brewed creations still outnumber the high powered buggys that skip across the mud making for an enjoyable show such as you describe.

Many years back a local fella had a 73 Cuda monster on 44's for these events, he actually drove it on the street for awhile until a State Trooper put a stop to that. :D

Yup, way out in the middle of nowhere at the intersection of two main highways....2 taverns there in fact, one of which is a strip club. :toot:
