Sayyyy... that looks pretty sharp! The '77-'78 is my favorite, too.

Things aren't so active around here like they once were, but have a peek around and see what's up. Some of us Olde Guys are still bouncing around and working on stuff... houses, garages, and even some old Chrysler iron here and there. Good to see you stop in!

Welcome back...I try and stop in once a day, and contribute where I can. ;) S10 can't haul squat...better off with the old Ram!

Anyone that got a left fender to a 1977 D/W200 or a NV3500 gearbox laying around for no use??
I dont gonna go bananas of road, im just use the truck for fun, driving on the street so i think the 3500 gonna work just fine instead of my 727, 5 speed manuel with overfrive on the 5ft should be great with the swedish gasprices.
There are, as i can see it just two problems, is the NV longer than a 727? In that case i gotta move the transfercase but its an easy fix.
The other one is how do i connect the NV to the transfercase? Is it easier to get another? But modern Mopar 4WD has the driveshaft to the front on the drivers side not on the passenger side that i got
Now, they use the NV3500 on Chevys to, what side do they got the driveshaft to the front?

Not sure on the NV3500 but I have a NV4500 behind the cummins in my 84 crewcab. The stock NP205 transfer case bolts up fine and the NV4500 has the same 29 spline output shaft as my NP205's input shaft.

If the NV3500 has a left hand drop transfer case, NP241 or something of that kind you can sometimes flip them to run right hand drop, but you will need to tap the oil feed line and run a line so the bearings can get proper oiling.

Was thinking about htis while working last night. Pretty sure the NP271 has the actual oil pump for lubrication, the smaller 241 and their kind I think just use a lap/splash style system for oiling. So if you were to flip it you might only need to tap and block off the vent and then drill and tap for a new one. Also the linkage required for engage and disengage the transfer case might be an issue as well.
