I'll get this out of the way..

Howdy,

My name's Matt, and I'm afflicted with old cars. My first car was a '68 Satellite, my second was a '66 New Yorker. I've had thirty or forty since.. 85% have been Mopars, two Fords, A '63 Riviera, and a bunch of other junk, both foreign and domestic. I've currently got a '63 Valiant with a disc brake swap, big torsion bars, and full suspension rebuild, a '73 Fury II, that I got for free, is totally rusted, has a neighborhood watch sign for a floor board, a saddle blanket interior, and is the most reliable crap I own. I've got an '86 W150, with over half a million miles on it. I just swapped a mildly built 318 with a vintage thermoquad and NP435 into it, making it actually function as a truck. I also own a '73 Volvo 144, a '74 Volvo 145, and an '81 Volvo 245, all four speeds. They're really just Swedish Mopars. The truck I actually paid money for seven years ago, the Fury, and the 144 were free, the Valiant and the other two Volvos were $500 each.. I like beaters. I also used to work as a vintage Sportscar mechanic in Richmond VA, so if any of you guys have anything British, French, or Italian, I can help you with that particular masochism as well.

Yes, yes, pictures... I'll figure that out. Every forum wants pictures, and every forum makes it a ten minute process to put one picture up. Figure out that forum's procedure, find it, upload it, find out it's too big, find a way to resize it, upload it again, and somehow it gets uploaded upside down. I'm fairly tech savvy, but I'm also self taught. Nobody has yet explained a way for me to upload photos that doesn't make me want to shut my laptop and go drink a beer or actually go wrench on a car instead of fight with a picture of one.

Matt

It's actually very easy to upload pictures here. One of the simpler forums I've experienced in that regard. Come to think of it, that kind of goes for some of the members around here, too. :D We look forward to seeing them (the pictures... the members aren't much to look at).

69.5CUDA is an Alfa freak, so I'm sure you'll have loads of fun with him.

wait..a bodys and oddballs...your uhh collection sounds eclectic enuf to be mine......while i cant remember a volvo designation to save my life..theres a few i do addore...like the 80s factory chop top 2drs that were "extra" race cars for road use

thread worthless without pics!!!!

yeah..of EVERYTHING

Okay, all of my photos appear to be too large.. This is normally when I quit and go get a beer.. What's the easiest way to convert them that isn't me spending an hour putting ten pictures on this site?

my fav for converting has always been "slowview" its a freeware program that goes way way way way back..any idiot can figure it out too

HOWEVER for forum posting i find photobucket alot more usefull..drag n drop the pics to your account and then click n link the whole lot onto the forum...mind you the bucket aint as nice and easy to use as it once was..but it gets the forum job done

personaly use a combination of "dropbox" to pull them from my phone and then upload from it to bucket..or if im feelin lazy just link the drop box folder directly and let ppl browse(dropbox came on one of my phones..and by far has been the single most usefull FREE hosting tool ive ever had)

Another Volvo guy... cool.
I've had 6 or 7 240 series cars. The best car I've ever owned - at least my favourite car - was my '84 245 GL. I got it as a $400 repo and put close to 250k on it. It had a little over 150k when I got it...
I use Irfanview for pics.

Okay, I've pulled stuff off my phone and shoved it in the garage thing here.. Sorry for the Swedish content, but somebody asked for it.. Sorry, not sorry

Welcome.

Thanks for the pics - I wouldn't worry too much about the Volvo thing.... I'm sure they will be the next to own what used to be Chrysler.

The Italians sell to the Chinese after GM refuses Sergio? Not too far fetched, actually.
