Idea For my Dakota.....

Spawn

I'm just sittin here wasting time.. and
I was thinking rather then doing the "normal" thing and dropping a V8 into it.... 318 or 360... that i am going to find either a low mileage 3.9L... or build a 3.9L to be able to withstand either twins.... or a huffer.... there's alot of honda's around where i live that think they're the shit.... everytime they pass me (going the other way) the try and rev up and impress me.... i think it's jealousy due to the fact that my truck is dropped and looks better then their dropped hondas.... i have had to put a few of them as well as other imports in there place so far.... which is funny when they get stomped by just a worn out V6.... anyway thats the idea.... figured i'd run it by you guys.... y'all have more input good, bad or otherwise then most people i talk to so lemme know whatcha think.... :bravo:

I personaly love the idea, sadly I don't know how to do it myself. I too own a 3.9 Dak, and I've also put some of imports in their place as well.

I know KRC performance has a blower, its made for the third gen dakota 3.9, but from what I understand, nothing major was done to the engine, I could be wrong, I own a 93.

I myself was thinking of turbo v6, and moving the block back a few inches. Thing is, there isn't a company that I've seen that makes and aftermarket intake for the V6, only services that can do what they can to our "beer barrel", though one of the wise members on here (Dr. Jass) suggested on a home built sheet metal intake, which you can, as he says "litterly play God with the runners", which is true. Thing is also, the intake system isn't going to work well if you do turbo, so you might have to rip off a H.O. 302 mustang one or something off a Turbo Buick to give you a proper air mixure.

I also found a 4.00" stroker kit for the 3.9 on strokerkits.com I believe. Its supposed to fit all 3.9 blocks, give or take some clearence for the rod ends. They give you a billet crank, no forged for use. So its either a heavy beast of a crank or something thats going to snap in half if you double dryer.

Otherwise, thats all I know on that subject, for thats all the information that was given to me when I asked the same question. I'm going to school on my own money, so I'm pretty much broke and can't do crap on my dakota right now, so good luck with yours :bravo:

thanks.... im sure my brother and i will figure out something to do with it.... he's a very resourceful guy....

speaking of 3.0's I was also intriged by an idea of a mitsu/dodge 3.0 with a twin turbo setup from a Stealth/3000GT (oddly enough they call the 3000GT in Japan a GTO :wtf: )

That might get something going, ofcource I was planing on putting that setup in a k-car with a ford IRS rear end :bwuhaha:

To each their own I suppose, good luck with your setup, what ever you choose. :bravo:

Really, they have a Japanese GheTO also? And why not? Nevermind I forgot I was dealing with the killer of all that is Ford here right LB?

yeah... fords and i dont agree with each other... i want em to run like raped apes.... and they end up like the anagram.... found on road dead....

:bwuhaha: nice

I'll soon be ending up living in the land of the rising sun...and very small cars. But they do have some pretty cool and fast shit over there, who knows what I might find...perhaps drive :shifty: . Either way, if I end up living there, which it looks like I might, I got myself prepared with a bare 360 Magnum block just sitting and waiting to be put in something. Who knows, maybe I'll find an Australian Charger over there
