Iced Earth, Hellyeah, and Volbeat

J.C. Corbett

or something.....
I'd been looking forward to this for a while. Last Saturday night I had tickets to see all three bands at the Knitting Factory here in Reno. Here's a short recap. We were in the very front for each band. Iced Earth positively kicked ass.:fishy: They were super tight, and the new singer could easily sing the Barlow stuff, then switch straight to the Ripper songs. Jon Schaffer is a great guitar player, and looked amazingly laid back. It looked like he was having the time of his life. Go see them! Hellyeah was, in my opinion, all about Vinnie Paul, as they should be. This guy was so much fun to watch on the drums, it's hard to describe. Volbeat. I've loved these guys since they first hit here in the states, and they were positively amazing live. The playing was great, vocals were great, and they pulled the 12 year old kid next to me up on stage to rock out for a couple of songs. That made me an even bigger fan.[smilie=:: When they finished, that kid had drumsticks, picks, sweat bands, hell...everything. I'll try to dig up a pic to show you how close we were. All in all, it was a great evening, and the best 35 bucks I've spent in a while. One funny thing I noticed, because I'm a dork like that, Volbeat's singer continually took drinks from his half gallon of Jack Daniels, but the level in the bottle remained the same through the whole show.:D

sounds like you had a great time . ICED EARTH is one of my favorite bands . so barlow is gone again .
