The 2bbl carb on my survivor 68 Coronet 4dr was leaking at the throttle shaft, sooooooooo.......



....as long as it's being changed...........

For normal driving it runs about the same as before, but when you stand on it there's this strange wooooooooaaaaaaaaahhhh noice that comes from under the hood.

With the 2bbl, the power would start falling off about 3k, now it's still pulls strong to about 55 in low.

With those rear gears this thing will cruise at 80mph all day long on a quarter tank of gas.

I was getting about 21mpg with the 2bbl, if I stay out of it, [smilie=e: I might still get close to that. [smilie=e:

It's really quite surprising how much torque it has even in high gear.

j/k 68....that really is good looking car!What do you tach at 55mph....around 1500 rpm's? At least put some hood scoops on it!

Don't know what it turns for R's, maybe the good Doc will break out the formula and tell us what it turns with 25" tires. [smilie=e:

1/4 tank at 80 all day? [smilie=e: OK then we all better go out and purchase inline 2-4s if its the next thing for great gas mileage. [smilie=e: I will take a wild guess and say double nickles with a small 14 inch tire will get you about 2400 Rs. with 2.76s. 1250 cfm on a teen should be just right. [smilie=e:
