Here we go again.

The cops were just at my door... it must be springtime.

Of course, I don't answer my door for surprise guests and this type of thing is exactly the reason. So, he looked around the yard a little, stepping in dog shit while he was doing so. He had to stop to scrape his shoe before he got in his squad car. :bwuhaha:

The funniest thing was watching a uniformed, armed law officer that was absolutely petrified of Valentine. I mean, I can understand being wary of dogs, but an earnest, overly-friendly five-month-old puppy?! For a second there I thought he might draw his gun. :D

I wonder if they'll fuck it up again this year, and illegally leave the tickets in my mailbox again. Last year, I never responded to them at all, and never heard a peep--perhaps they knew they'd broken the law?

I have an unregistered car in my yard (the Imperial), as well as a registered-but-inoperable one (Sarah's Z/28). It's blight-law enforcement time! So, I move the cars offsite for a couple of days, call the cops and have them sign off on the ticket then bring everything back. Then they won't bother me until next spring.

Last year, they ticketed me for the Conquest, the Imperial, and various scrap metal (3 tickets). They left them in the mailbox which is a violation of Federal law as anything put in a mailbox needs to be properly addressed, stamped, and postmarked. I waited and waited for them to haul me to court and they never did. I'm guessing they let it be because my breaking a local ordinance was less severe than a law officer breaking a Federal law. :D

We're lucky here in town. I've had my old Volvo - last plated in '07 - sitting in the drive since the shop closed.
Last summer, I had DCF's Charger on the rotisserie in my driveway, the Volvo in front of it, the Beetle on the front lawn and my wife's car in the driveway. The only thing missing would have been the chickens scratching around in the dirt. :) Matter of fact, twice, the city constabulary stopped by to see what I was working on "this week". :)

only way its an issue around here is if a neighbor bitches about something...i mean hell i had 24 cars+ a 2200sqf ranch style single level house+ a carport on UNDER 1/3 of an acre..yeah wedged in all tight like

Yeah but your house is not visible from the street. Only reason you got ratted out was those annoying people just over the back yard fence.

Man, I thought I did it right. Bought a shop building on rural land, gave a home to my cars and a few of my brothers'. Just last winter with no (public) warning or discussion the county board saw fit to pass a rural junked car ordinance (oh fuck me) you can have 1 on regular rural property and 3 on Ag land. I have an acre of Commercial land and about 3/4 Ag. I'm not sure what their definition of "junked vehicle" will be. Really, only one fits into what I'm used to, that's the parts Daytona that has no title and is inoperable. Some of the vehicles on my property have their tags turned into the courthouse "for storage". All but one will start stop and go under it's own power, if you give me time to charge up a couple batteries. We'll see where they go with this. Maybe they'll get busy after they run off all the Mennonites*

The cops stopped again the following Sunday, but have not been back since... maybe they gave up? Maybe the terror of facing the puppy got me a pass this year? :D

You know, despite my run-ins with the law, I try to keep the utmost respect for peace officers... but I'm starting to agree with you on this one--at least this particular officer. It's the same one that broke several laws last year investigating and ticketing me for my mess.

Well, the only experiences I've had with cops were negative ones, and I can count the number of cops I know with integrity on one hand. Border guards are just as bad, if not worse.

These goofs were either bullies or were bullied a lot in school. There's no other explanation for their wacky behaviour.
