Hello from Amsterdam

restoman

The paint fumes have cleared so I'm
Amsterdam, New York, that is.
On the return end of a 2 week visit home in Cape Breton.

Loooooong drive. :(

Had a great time down East, it gets harder to leave each time. One of these days might well find me loading up my tools and family and going back there to live.

Great weather while we were there, family reunion of sorts - saw some Aunts, Uncles and cousin that I hadn't seen in 9 years. Drank some beer, ate some seafood and got eaten alive by the mosquitos and black flies.

Good times. :giggedy:
Another good chunk of driving tomorrow, time for some shut eye.

I hear ya! We just got back from Miramichi, NB a couple weeks back. My wife is from there and this was my second trip there. If there was steady work there, I'd be all over it. Beautiful part of the country!:giggedy::bravo:

My ex business partner is from Miramichi - back when it was called Newcastle. Is your wife any relation to the Robichauds?

It is a beautiful place for sure.

Resto, I have heard the Robichaud name down there. Not sure if there's any relation, though. Funny you recall Newcastle; that was Tracy's hometown! I miss it already, and I'm not even from there. LOL!

Yup, life moves at a slower pace down there. Still has the hustle and bustle, but slower.
I'm not sure if I'm homesick after having such a good visit, but I'm really seriously thinking of moving back there.
When I left in '84, being a 20 year old know-it-all, it wasnt the place I wanted to be. Now, after living in Ontario for 24 years, Cape Breton is looking pretty good again.
Two days at my sister's house and my wife says "you talk different, like when I first met you" :)

Lots of thinking to do ........
