I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I have not posted much anywhere other then Moparts. Then I couldn't remember my password so I had to reset it. I have been busy with the Holidays and fighting my body aches and pains. I plan to put a 6 point rollbar in my 63 to strenthen the chassis some and keep her from twisting as I already have frame connectors. It wont get no other body mods as I want to the body as stock as I can but I feel since I race it some the rollbar just makes sense. Everytime I look at this launch pic I want to go racing again. Well I hope to get it back out in early April with the rollbar in it. And Ron Jr has the heads off his Dart as we are going to do some porting on them and bump his comp a bit. Good to see all is well here. :) Ron

Hey Ron - nice to hear from you. Love the wheels up on the old lady!!! Seeing any Dart taillights lately?

Hiya Ron! Good to know your still kickin around here, that's a kick ass pic of your ride!

Thanks for the replies. No I have not put it on the dyno and I have no plans to. I will just tune at the track and then let my mph figure my hp. I am guessing about 500 at the crank and maybe 425 to the wheels as thats about what 11.70's come to at 3640. The car weighs 3640 with a 1/2 tank and my 170 in the car.
Mike I plan to go with the Torque Thrust wheels later for the more vintage look. As for Dart taillites ?? Well we ran the exact same et's that day of 7.48 i the windy air so I hope it has 11.50's in her as Jr Dart does on good days. My 63 actually 60's better then the Dart. My 1.58 to his best 60 of 1.61. Jr is worried as thats why he has the heads off looking for some more hp. Never count the old man and his vintage 63 out ! :toot: Ron

good to see ya around again! Man that car looks like a blast!! Good luck with it come the next drag sessions!!:bravo:

Hey Ron, hope you're feeling better soon. Good to hear you're putting a bar in the 63....it needs it with all that power ! [smilie=i:

Did you end up going with the S&W kit i told you about ? Prostreet bars ?

Ron

Yes Ron I am going with the S & W kit. Thanks for the info and its a good price. I took it to work last Saturday as it was in the 60's and one of our cust spent about 10 minutes looking over the car. And then on the drive home the mailman really stretched his head to get a second look. Thats what its all about as it sure gives a good feeling. But snatching the left front wheel a few inches is an even better feeling !

As for the body aches and pains ?? I am in alot of pain today as it was damp out from raining last night and there is no way I could work in the shop without the meds. I take an antiflamitory twice a day and then Tramadol for pain 4 times a day if needed and I have oxycodone for pain at night when it gets bad. As long as I take the meds I can stand it but some days when I want to work on my car I dont when it just hurts real bad. They say its Fibromalaygia. All I know is it hurts all over my body like major authrithas does. But I am not dead so as long as I can I will drive and race my 63. [smilie=:: Ron

Ron, cool deal on the S&W kit.....you will be happy with the end result. :bravo:

Dang, didn't realize you were living with fibromialga....that is tough to deal with. I know a few who suffer with this ailment every day but it does get better with rest and recouperation. Have you considered a position with less physical exertion, perhaps a service writer position or something similar ?

Ron

Hey 383 ron

great wrinkle tire wheels up pics. thought i'd share one with you too. i'd love to put your 63 up against my 73 for some fun track time. your 1/4 et beats my best 12.10 but my 1.58 60 footer & 7.57 1/8th should make for a pretty exciting side by side run for most of the race. when i loose it would be a pleasure to buy you a pint. lol

car looks wicket. sorry about your heath issues bud, but its sure nice to see your still hitting the right pedal hard. i can't wait to get cuda out again. with this crazy weather we've got this winter the rides may be out alot sooner. i'm still seeing motor cylces driving around & its friggen january in canada. god i love globle warming.

-:bwuhaha: Age and treachery will beat youth and brains any day of the week.

That's some wicked pulling you got going on for the amount of engine you built.

Lookin good Ron...!!!

I feel your pain man...I'm in the same boat...30 years of crouching and working on concrete floors have taken it's toll...plus I use to run almost every day.
they tell me I need knee replacements X2...I'm too young for that:dgt:
Bring on the meds :Fresh Meds:
