GTX paint pictures

I'm finally getting around to putting the car back together again after running out of other things to do...
Just can't seem to get motivated...I got XL's engine together with the new ported EZ heads and tried to get it on the dyno on the weekend but the nitrous bottle needed to be filled.I even got my friend from the CBC to agree to video tape the dyno pull but the half full bottle put a stop to my plans.
So I had to work on my GTX.
All that's left to do is a polish and back together it goes.

Geex Rob, couldn't you get those panels to fit any better? Or at least make it shiny?

Mike...

it's pretty flat surface wise I just hit it with some 3m extra cut rubbing compound to see what surprises are waiting in the clear for me :shifty:..so far everything looks good other than I'd like to pore another gal of clear on it...
The metallics in the house of kolor bases have defiantly changed the color a tad bit. "think I made a big mistake going with the H of C" the hood is finished "plenty of clear on it"all except for the flat black that goes in between the louvers. The paint out in the sun looks spectacular but anywhere else looks kinda boring.
I'm hoping that after it's really polished and glazed it comes around.
Well at least all the dents are out and it is really straight.... until I drive over some railroad tracks :p

Thanks for the complements guys...I'll post a picture once I get some fine cut on it and it starts to shine up a bit.

Thanks guys...I finally got to hit the paint with some fine cut and it looks really really nice...Super straight and super flat...should have done it 10 years ago...I never got the car out of the garage in the sun to snap some new pictures (it needs to be outside) pictures in the garage just look blah...
Since it's winter I'm going to really finish it up (All the things that bug me about the car) Take the diff and springs back out and and paint and detail them...re chrome the front grill...and finally put my all alum Hemi in it (bought an Indy block in 93).I was going to toss it in a couple of winters ago but I had second thoughts about using the used legend heads and shaft rockers that I picked up.(I tend to run my own engines on the ragged edge and I'll NEVER fart with hemi shaft rockers again)
So I went with Stage V heads and T&D(Barton) style rockers...I scored a new billet 4.750 crank on racing junk so I won't have to scavenge one of my spare engines for a crank like I was going to do.
The only thing that kinda hurt was the set of custom billet Crower rods...so all the big pieces are there now and the car is all nice and shiny and this is going to be my last kick at the can with the old GTX.
I'll see if I can get a nice picture in the garage and post it.

Wow, that sounds like a KILLER build Rob ! What's the displacement going to be ? Can't wait to see this one go together and hit the pump ! :gaga:

I've been scavenging parts for a big cube build myself. Scored a 4.5 stroke crank and a World 4.49 rough bore block in the early fall. Waiting for the Canadian "peso" to bounce back before i make the plunge for more goodies.

Seasons greetings Rob ! :bravo:

Ron...

It's going to be a 605...I'm going to leave it at a 4.500 bore.
I tried to sell this block several times and for what I was offered for it I might as well use it my self and enjoy it if I'm going to take a big hit on it.
I'm going to get the same money for it New or Used..
I'd prefer to build a wedge because I know I can make 1000 hp with one carb and these Hemi's with these big fat heads I'm not really sure about...But I'll pack it full of compression and spin it 7500 and see what happens :nanna:...
This will be my first great big Hemi so it'll be fun... plus an all alum engine will look good under the hood.

You can't polish a turd, throwing fancy parts at 'yer 40 year old piece of crap will only let you a fast poop. Send it down this way I could use a new doorstop [smilie=i:[smilie=i:[smilie=i:[smilie=i: :giggedy:

:huh::p

sounds like a plan, :bravo:

Thanks Boot..!!

I'm pretty sure you'd get tired of it in a hurry...wouldn't want to cause you any unnecessary suffering :p
