Ingredients:
Graham Crackers
2 sticks of Butter
1 cup light brown sugar
12 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 - 1 cup nuts finely chopped (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°
Using a rimmed baking sheet, lined with foil and spray generously.–
This step is very important or you will not be able to remove the crackers after they are set up.
Place crackers evenly in an even single layer on the bottom of the pan.
Be sure to cover the entire sheet pan with whole crackers; do not use broken pieces.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar.
Once the butter and sugar are melted, bring to a full rolling boil while stirring constantly for three (3) minutes – use a timer as it MUST be three (3) full minutes.
The mixture will thicken during the three minute process. Lava hot
Remove from the heat and pour over crackers; spread with a silicone spatula if needed.
Place in the oven and bake for 7 minutes.
Remove from the oven, place chocolate chips evenly over the mixture and let sit 2-3 minutes or until chocolate begins to melt.
Using a silicone spatula, spread chocolate evenly over the surface and sprinkle with nuts or toppings of your choice.
Place in refrigerator for 1 hour or more to firm up, break into pieces, Enjoy.
Suggestions for toppings: crushed peppermint candies, toffee, or sea salt.
