A new driveshaft that is! [smilie=e:

I was growing a bit concerned about the 34 year old shaft (bad vibration at 100mph+) so I had a local shop make a new one. This one is made with DOM tubing which is 1/2" smaller in diameter and slightly thicker than stock. Severe duty (without grease fitting) u-joints are also included.

Once this is installed and some fuel system mods are completed the RR should be ready for a trip back to the track. [smilie=e:

Thus far, I have. I just took another look at your shaft, and I noticed something.... I didn't notice something.... balance weights... Internally balanced , or just positioned to hide said weights?

Looks nice Beep....I'm sure it will work in your truck just fine!

J/K what's something like that cost if you don't mind me asking? [smilie=e:

very nice drive shaft (ill be nice [smilie=e: )
i had to get one made when i went from 340 to bb in my challenger but it was just a cutdown of a stock ds. does anyone have experience with aluminum shafts? just wondering how something like that would hold up to street duty or are they like aluminum rods and just for the track?
man when i see the progress and upgrades you guys are doing to your rides it makes me want to get my car going even more [smilie=e:

Aluminum shafts are certainly up to the task for street duty but they are spendy, the auto makers have been using them for years. [smilie=w:

any advantage worth the extra coin? i can see on a small relatively low powered engine it might make a difference but what about a healthy big block?

The biggest advantage with aluminum is the weight savings, but for my budget it's not worth the extra coin.
