Worked for a few hours on the vert. Buffed it with my porter cable 7424 and the 3M Finesse-it and then a coat of Zaino and looks a lot better! It doesn't have the real nice paint the Cuda had but it still looks nice.

What are you vert folks using on your tops?? :wtf:

I use 303 on the vinyl seats, the same stuff or something just for tops?
I'll have to check their site.
:wtf: Hey XL, can you delete the post in the mopar forum, I duplicated it.

383/auto, originally a 2bbl but they stuck a 4bbl Eddy with an Eddy manifold. I have the original manifold, carb and vc's. It's kind of doggy, got some tuning to do. It has a Mopar performance dist. so that may be some of the problem.

That looks pretty sharp now. Is "Bronze Beauty" your new name for the board? :shifty:

:dgt: [smilie=k: I was thinking more like TurbineBronze [smilie=a:

Im sure you will get it all sorted out real soon. Just dont tear into it like you did that cuda- keep it a driver and its much more fun.:dgt:

I know, I was thinking stroker but I just want the 383 to run like a 383 should. I need to get some timing tape or a timing light with advance. I have the original dist. so i was thinking of pulling out the crappy Mopar performance dist. and go to pertronix to make it look factory.:) It's got an Eddy 4bbl carb too so I gotta check all the adjustments.

Good plan. Get the advance curve happening right first and then yank that generic fuel mixture device for something better. If its the original motor still it should have around 300 ponies if you can find them.

at one time i put a 68 383 2bbl in my challenger with a stock roadrunner intake and magnum exhaust manifolds and it had decent grunt but just died at 4500. i bet the cam is a big culprit in that thing running doggy.

Could be, but also the Dist. he is using may need to be indexed or there may be a bad ground wire on the control box....

That's real nice...

You a happier guy now?

I wouldn't think the MP distributor would be an issue unless it's one of the race pieces with no vaccum advance?? Or is there a history of problems with them?

If you are determined to change that stuff, maybe consider the FBO stuff. I have no experience with it, but I've heard nothing but good from people who have them - ask dippy wagon.

That's the route I'm thinking of going, anyways...

Nice friggin car Russ.

I heard the curve comes in way too fast and has too much of it. I'll have to check the indexing on it too.

Well I had the FBO setup on the Cuda and it made a world of difference. Maybe I'll pop a valve cover and put my dial indicator on a rocker arm and see what kind of lift this thing has. I was looking at just a rebuilt dist. for a 72 RR with a 400 4bbl. They are only $40. and it may have a better advance curve than the Mopar HP one.:hmmm:
I'll get the carb right first.

If you look at the deck clearance, it's the same for the higher comp. ratio 383 and only .014 in.:wtf: And look at the cute little cam it's got.[smilie=2: Just get a 325hp 383 cam and stick it in there.
