Got a Copper today...

Actually, I've owned it for about a year. Traded a Junk Ferd for it last year. No I'm not talking about a copper pipe, I finally brought home my '78 Fury KHP (Ks Highway Patrol) car today.

The car actually has no motor or trans (or coolers) but is in pretty good shape overall and NOT rusted out (especially considering what the Ferd was like!). Interior is pretty nice other than being a bit dirty. Has all the cop gauges (including 140 Cert speedo), and even a bracket for a hand throttle.

The funny thing is that while its a real A38 car, it has the body mouldings down the center body line and NO spots, no indication of them ever being installed on the car. Same with a light. BUT, it DOES have a unit number and IS the old KS highway patrol blue.

No pics yet, it got dark before I could take any. I'll try tomorrow afternoon though.

I honestly have NO idea of what I'm going to do with this thing.

OK guys, here goes:

Jamie,
I'm amazed at your ability to see potential in these things.
That's not an insult. I am truly amazed.
Lesser men would write that stuff off as crusher material.

There is a certain "cool" factor associated with C-bodies and 4-doors in general. The trick is, as you seem to have figured out, is finding the truly interesting specimens in an ocean of ho-hum grocery-getters.

Get that baby back to looking like a copper and you'll have some show material.

When all is said and done, I'll bet you're having a blast doing this stuff.

Yes sir! [smilie=a:
That will fit in just fine with the rest of the yard ornaments. [smilie=e:[/quote]

Wham Wham Wham Wham and the beepster is in fine form today. Old ladies crossing heavy traffic roads are at Devcon 4 and helpless kitties in trees have bullseyes painted on them. [smilie=e:
