Good man!

I remember many years ago, Paul Harvey reported on someone who paid a $5K tax bill in pennies. One cool part of it is, if they refuse to take cash, then they essentially agree that your bill is settled--they must accept legal tender in whatever form.

I did something like that when I paid some old speeding fines, but I did it with crumpled-up $1 bills. Of course, it was only around $400. However, I showed up 5 minutes before closing just to end their day on a high note.

Kinda reminds of when I didn't cash any paychecks for about 3 months, about 10k worth. I went to cash them and the bank freaked out telling me I can't do that. Reminding the manager the law was in fact on my side they cashed them. I then took the cash to my other bank to pay on my mortgage and they freaked, again with the 'you can't do that', me again with the 'yes I can'. 45 minutes later after counting all the packs of bills I was on my way. Only about 3500 was in 100's 50's and 20's the rest was 1's, 5's and 10's. Cash, that's why it says 'legal tender'. :)

location withheld: the bar cashed a 401k loan check for a hair over 5k he didn't even flinch. He has a safe and cashes paychecks on thurs/friday sometimes should've just endorsed them to him. :D

Good man. I hate paying taxes on my property....it is depressing as all hell.

Wow, I guess our taxes out here are pretty cheap. About 1600/yr on 1/3 acre, 2k house and separate 3 car. 5k+ is harsh.

My tax bill last year was about $1200 total for 3 houses. One of them is about 1500 sq foot, on probably 1/4 acre. That's the one we live in, so the tax bill on it is reduced since it's our primary residence. Another one is about 1250 sq foot on .43 acre, and it's a rental, so full taxes are due. The 3rd is a tiny 725 sq footer, on about .3 acres, also a rental. I don't feel very bad now after reading about the dumbshit you guys have to pay.

Oh quit it. Bastards. My taxes suck ass, AND I am not even on sewer.......135 a week. asshole. Jeesh. :D

My taxes are about $450 per YEAR.

Of course, I live on a lot slightly larger than a postage stamp... :D But hey, it's all I want or need (well, once the fence goes up, anyhow).

Taxes

Actually I'm not complaining about my taxes. I like where I live, the schools are acceptable and the streets are clean.
