This article was in Hot Rod a while back (Oct. 2005) and it was in the White lightnin' article about the old moonshine runners i saw a 413 powered 61' Newyorker and on the air cleaners it has a sticker that reads Golden lion 413...does anyone have any info about what the golden lion 413 was?:hmmm:

It started in 59 & 60 with the RB 383, and then moved to the 413's.

It was just a moniker that they put on certain engines during the era. Just like chevy used the name "turbo jet" for any V8 and fyrds called anything with two valve covers a thunderbird special.

From allpar:

"From 1955 to the early 1980s, various stylized coats of arms appeared as Chrysler logos, none of which are believed to be the Chrysler (originally Kreussler) family crest. Lions also turned up in Chrysler emblems from 1955-1961, during which time Chrysler engines bore names such as "Golden Lion 413"."
