lol i just plugged in a big freezer i bought last winter in anticipation of just this very thing. i dont kill any animal that i dont intend to use. its not sport to me to kill just for the sake of killing, not even a rabbit or even what some guys call "varmint" hunting for coyotes and such. i have heard they are very tasty, related to the antelope. i hope to find out soon. hope you guys are not closet vegetarians.

I have some vegetarians IN my closet. Gonna eat 'em up. They are OK though, cause I threw a ham in there for them.

Does the military have a ton of rules for being armed on base?. I know here even with a CC permit you cant enter the air force academy. Let us know how it goes.

i dont know all the particulars yet but i do know that i cannot have a camera, no pistols, no alcohol. if they are doing any sort of missile test and you happen to have dumbass luck then your SOL. something about a hunter safety card but i went through one of the first of those in texas back in the late 70's as a kid. sorry to jump the gun on the vegetarian thing. nice to know you guys are a buncha MEAT eaters :D

have a good safe hunt and if you run out of room in freezer let me know I can come down to haul off any extra. Good luck killer

I'd listen to what the military tells you about hunting there. I knew of a guy that hunted there and he said there is a lot of unexploded ordinance laying around everywhere. That would put a damper on a hunting trip. Being called "Lefty" and not being able to shift a four speed wouldn't be much fun either. I've never been there, but I hear the game out there is awesome. Good luck and be careful.

back from the hunt and it was a hard one. my dad got one with 39" horns. i missed my shot. i had a running shot and led it too much because i did not want to gut shoot it. all the vitals in those animals are pushed way forward and a good kill shot is through the front shoulder and low. was a good hunt just to be out there with my dad. i did have enough gun as i was packing a .300 winchester magnum. pretty animals. i have heard several people say they prefer oryx meat over beef but i have yet to eat any. my dad will have the head mounted and i will post pics whenever he gets it back. on the unexploded ordinance there are several places that are off limits and a few years back a man picked up "something shiny", it exploded and killed him. i saw nothing but a spent 50 cal shell. we got to see the trinity site where they set off the first atomic bomb. all in all it was a good hunt but its damn good to be home.
