getting out of the apartment...

MyBigBlockDodge

Screw it. Give me the red AND blue pills.
Looks like Sue and I will be getting the keys to the house tomorrow (sat). We're only renting, but it's a great step forward for us. :giggedy: The housing marketing here in Phoenix is nuts... this house would sell for about $245,000. [smilie=f:

Guess I'm just sick of paying $1,000 a month for a 1 bedroom apt and two rental garages :wtf:

It's not huge (1600 sq ft), but its really nice and fairly new (about 10 years old). Best part is we will both be able to park in a garage, and actually have 3 bedrooms so we can have company stay if needed. One of the bedrooms will be an office for the two of us, so I won't have my computer desk in our bedroom anymore... weeeee!

Anyway, thought I'd share the good news.

so warm it browned the grass....

It's called a "roundup yard"... very popular here in the southwest.

(roundup yard = rock yard + 1 gallon jug of roundup weedkiller and a spray nozzle)

:p

and it's cold here today... only in the 50's. [smilie=f:

it really looks like dead grass.... im so used to seeing that having lived in tx.... the dead grass thing.... anything i dont have to mow is the way to go....

Nope... some people in the neighborhood have grass, but most don't. You get pretty good kickbacks by the city if you don't (less water usage). Desert country... water is like gold here. They will actually give you a $600.00 credit if you remove grass and replace it with rock.

Now you can stay up all night posting on MoparNuts and not disturb the wife! [smilie=i:

Nice!

Ya know... $1000 a month is a decent mortgage payment.
Better it go into equity than into someone else's pocket. It's worth looking in to.

A new or new-ish 1600 sq ft house would gor for around $180K to 200K in my town...
It's going to be 25F here tomorrow. :hmmm:

We would love to buy, but the timing isn't right. I've just started up a new business so until I have two years under my belt it's almost impossible to get financing. Payments on a decent house here are in the 1500 - 1700 a month range... unless you don't mind living in a pretty scary neighborhood with a gun under your pillow every night. :shifty:

cool house!
I wish houses were that cheap around here...

:(

a home out in the suburbs is over half a million. Vancouver homes start at close to a million.

bah humbug, I'm moving to New Brunswick or Nova Scotia one of these years.

hmm... not a bad house. 12.41 acres of land

I'll guess 212,000

it would be worth millions here, just for the land.
