Getting my @$$ kicked

Greg J

Rabid Road Runner Racer
It’s been 12 days since I brought home the new puppy, and I have never had such a hard time housebreaking a dog before.

He’s such a sneaky little S#!T, he snuck up on the neighbors cat, and gave it a nibble [smilie=2: . (Funniest thing I ever saw.)

But he’s also the master of sneaking around the house dropping land mines
:crap:

NOT my favourite chore by any means. I am trying something new with my pup...I make him bark each time he goes to the door, and he is now going to the door and barking when he needs out...
I feel for yah. :(

Damn! I was hoping you were going to say he goes to the door, barks, and dumps "land mines" so they are waiting for you at the door.

:bwuhaha:

Zilla bought an affon Pincher 10 months ago, I think it took her 9 months to train it.
After she buys it she reads that they are difficult to train...........
She's got it housebroken, nows she's working on it not turning into destructo dog and chewing the crap out of blankets and pillows.

I’m going “Boot Camp” on him starting today. When I get home, I’ll let him out for 2 minutes. If he doesn’t do the deed, he goes in the dog crate for 5 minutes.

Then let him out for 1 minute. If he doesn’t go, back in the crate for 5 minutes (repeat as necessary) it might be a long night. . . :wall:

been a long while since i was doing any of that...but ive got a voice they listen to and DO what there told..course i have a way with dogs in general

Success

We did the “in the crate, go outside, the crate, go outside, . . .” thing till 10:00 pm last night (at least it was something I could do while drinking :quaff: ). The little F’er wouldn’t go. So I said screw it and went to bed.
First thing this morning, same drill, and nothing, so he went back in the crate while I took a shower and got ready for work, then one more trip outside, and SUCCESS, he finally crapped outside.

I hope he figures out the drill sooner tonight or I might run out of beer [smilie=f:

Thats funny right there, the running outa beer part, not the dog part.......:D

Dogs have been living OUTSIDE for many thousand years with no problems whatsoever. Ours loves its igloo style house and grew a nice thick shiny coat over the winter. We feed her more when its cold out and now she needs to go on a diet- outside of that no problems.:toot:

Remember this:
You feed him twice a day, just enough for him to finish. RIGHT AFTER each feeding ,walk him outside for 1/2 hr, (it may take less)., When they eat , the stomach puts pressure on the bladder and lower extermities. they WILL go. As soon as he does , give him alot of encouragement of course and treat. yes he already ate , but they will always eat more. They need a reward from you. All they want to do is please you.
Another thing. this ain't no BS. I taught my "RIP" Boxer "Bax" this and it only took me 1 week to train him ,with the above mentioned.
Doing as mentioned, out back with the pup . where you want him to go, and wip-it-out so to say and take a weee.
Its like monkey , see monkey do.

Good luck ...Patience

And stand clear... if the dog rolls on his back while laughing at your manhood, he may squirt in your direction. :D

Thanks, but I understand how to get it done, (even the pee in the yard right in front of him part ). This is the first time it’s ever taken me more than a week. I only took two days last time I went through this (9 years ago).

I think part of the problem this time (besides the little F’er being so stinking smart, and sneaky) is that he’s 4 – 5 months old, and nobody worked on this with him before. Every other time I’ve started with an 8 week old pup. :hmmm:

ohh, sorry :shifty: , didnt mean to insult your intellect.
Dodnt know he was that old . Yep I do agree that he should have been worked w/ alot earlier.
