GM today unveiled its strategy for the next five years, a plan based on an aggressive move towards electric mobility. The new GM logo presented at the same time reflects the company's new focus.

When a long-established company with an iconic logo such as the Mark of Excrement changes that logo, they're either in deep financial shit or there's treachery afoot behind the scenes. I suspect the latter, since GM is almost a wholly-owned subsidiary of the well-financed Chinese government.
