Front end rebuild

Night and day apparently, but you need to ask yourself want you want the car to do.

You can get a decent ride by rebuilding your existing front end with MOOG rubber parts. Do a search on this site for moog and you'll get some details.
The pro wrenchers should be able to chime in later in the day too.

A colleague of mine in Chicago used that set up when he built his 70 Charger RT. I haven't seen him for about a year so I'm not sure how it's worked out for him.

Oh, and the word on the street is to stay away from the PolyGraphite kits..

a search for moog will bring up some of that info...

Wouldn't some beefy sway bars and decent (tubular) control arms get you in the vicinity without spending that much?

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. Absolutely nothing wrong with the stock suspension when combined with these items. Give me the stock torsion bars over that coil spring stuff anyday.

With adjustable tubular upper arms you can easily dial in the positive caster desired for an excellent handing machine, biggest downfall of the stock upper arms is the inability/difficulty to successfully attain the desired caster amount.

Use the MOOG parts, do your homework on torsion bar sizes and determine which bars will work for you, same goes for sway bars, good shocks and lets see...:hmmm: ....oh ya, tie-rods and adjuster sleeves, solid adjuster sleeves are best or tie rods and sleeves from a C-body are beefier than those on the B's. ;)

and that would be the pro wrencher I was talking about.

Thanx DCF, after that link you got me sweating now.:doubt: As soon as its warm enough to work in the garage I'll be going through every bushing and joint to look for wear.

INHO this kit has 2 uses first if you want to put a 5.7 in a early a body, like I was thinking before... Then you need to get the t bars out of the way. This kit from what i have read is a good setup to do that. It also is a good way to go to get rack and pinion. Also a nice benefit for us early A body owners is you have more room for headers the steering col is moved over just enough to use later a body headers.
