Hi all,

Remember, in my first post, I posted a pic of my cars in the yard. This one is my '85 Ram 150 LWB when I got it in:

And, this is what powered it:

With the Truck parked for a few months, becoming an unwitting parts donor, I was sure it was gonna be parted. But, cleanign up the yard, I decided to get it out and running again. Went down, re-snagged my carb off another one elsewhere, bolted it back together and went. This is what she looked like:

After a hiatus in April due to a dislocated elbow, I pressed it in service the next month hauling cars around the yard. I was going to moutn a cherrypicker on the back, but I REALLY needed to move this '70s longbed (which, coincidently was the same color), it got bolted to this one. All the lights hooked up, as did the filler. It looked good:

Because of the bed looking so well and it complete on the outside, I decided to do a V-8. I was gunning for a 360, but I found my good one full of water! Nixed that idea in a hurry. Finally decided on a 400, because I had two laying around, and one unknown trans (turned out great):

Then, the 225 was yanked out and the engine bay prepped by moving the mounts back to the rear holes and the mess o' spaghetti removed:

Then, the 400 was painted and plopped into place. a 4-v was added after it was runnable, then the acessories and the correct manifolds. The LB engine cleared the large booster nicely, even with the late 70s tall style valve covers. I ended up using an '81 non-ELB harness from a 318 truck. It worked great, only had to extend the dist. conenctor wires and then wire the alt. directly to the battery.

Finally, before flinging it down the road on a 4-hour trip, I decided to put my '86-'90 grille in it:

Whats next? Well, the motor turned out to be junk! a Burnt exhaust valve was gonan be a minor fix till I wasted the bottom end playing too hard. Then, a freeze plug went. I'm going to put in a '69 383 in it with 99k easy miles on it. Ought to be a lot more fun!

Very cool Jamie! Sounds like your dislocated elbow(snicker, how did you get that??) didn't slow you down! Great work!

Well, that came from me falling backwards off my '78 Aspen. Probably the one reason I'm selling it to this day (got a guy interested)
