FNG chiming in

Hi, just heard about this forum and thought I'd check it out. Have been into MoPar since the 1980's, when I bought my first Duster ('72, 225/904). Other cars include a '70 Roadrunner basket/project, '66 Belvedere (hopped up '72 318; my first hot rod), a 383/727/8.75 '69 Valiant, '49 Plymouth P18 4d (real scabby; my daily for several years), and a bunch of other MoPars along the way. Have spent about 1/3 of my working career with a wrench in my hand. Work on trains for a Spanish company right now. Currently the custodian of a Kellison Formula Vee project, a '54 NY'er, and a '54 Dodge 1/2T with 383/727. Well, a 489" 383... just can't leave well enough alone. Am funding the pickup madness by selling tach brackets, spring relocation kits, and other things. -bill

Welcome to the nut house.

I really should let you in on a little secret. Around here when people talk about cool cars/trucks/bikes/boats etc...
It is customarily followed by this smiley --->:nopics:

Hell, you might find my threads are worthless... even with pics. But here goes.

Here's Lulubelle:

Here's a (very) crappy picture of a photo I have from when the headers were being welded up on the first motor:

You couldn't really tell that the truck wasn't stock, unless you caught the header dumps under the running boards, the dual exhaust tips, the headers inside the fenderwells, or the shifter.

It's just a typical mullet-Camaro-ready ratchet shifter with the long truck shift handle bolted to it. Problem is, the shifter won't snap back to center when accelerating. If you don't catch that fact in time... you'll over rev the motor. Did I mention I'm building a new motor? Oh, and the 'Starsky and Hutch' seats are gone now.

Here's a pic of the front of the truck. Complete with 'in-progress' wiring. If you look closely, you can see the exhaust where the headers will bolt on, and the engine mounts welded to the frame. I use '69 C-body mount brackets and insulators on the motor.

The two guys in this photo are Jon from Advantage Engineering (left) and my former co-worker Anthony (right), who are my 'wrecking crew'. Invaluable guys!

Unfortunately, I've never been a big one for taking pictures; wish I'd captured some of the other rides I've had. Oh well, gotta' start sometime.

well Howdy I like the shot of the engine hanging ready to go in, ,, with the exception of some new stuff in the background and the tag that couldv've been shot in 1960.

Cool!!! Welcome!!! I looked at a truck that a few years ago, but had to pass on it, no where to store it, ohhh well one of many I guess. Take lots of pics, I do that now, wish I had in the past...

Thanks for the kind responses everyone!

The engine that's shown in that pic is just a mockup piece for oil pan and pump. I'm welding up a deep sump pan (as soon as my shoulder heals... that is) and may be picking up a Muscle Motors external pickup oil pump cover.

The block that's going in is still in the machine shop; should be out next week and ready for me to fiddle with.
