Fix anything...

...but a broken heart.

The claims are astounding, but I've used this stuff personally as well as gotten awesome feedback on it. Body-shop guys love it particularly well when they're delivering a car in an hour and find a broken headlight tab or cracked shield of some kind, and there's no way to get a replacement in time to get the car out.

Stretch and I used it to repair a $530 fuel rail on a 3.5L Chrysler V6.

One of my former (Esky) customers used it to repair a belt on a piece of equipment that runs 12-16 hours a day, every day. That was on the 4th. The hard-to-find replacement belt arrived but the repaired one's still working so they didn't replace it yet.

No, it's not perfect, but it's pretty astounding stuff. It sells for around $28. A lot of the stuff in the video I've either tried, or have customers that have tried. The claims really aren't exaggerated.

Well all I can say is WOW....even if it works half as good as it claims, then that's bretty damn good.

But I take your word on its effectivenss Doc....:)

Thanks for the info and Vid.

Now to see where I can get that stuff up here in Canook land. :hmmm:

I wouldn't have posted it if I wasn't 100% sold on it. It's just amazing stuff.

I had another body-shop customer come in and comment on it Friday. He fixed a vertical radiator shroud with it and "complained" that it didn't bond instantly--he had to clamp it for about 5 minutes since there was weight on the repair. He'd previously tried to fix the part with SEM-Bond, and it didn't hold. After he'd clamped this part, he tried to break the repair just for giggles, and couldn't--he almost broke the shroud in a different place trying, too. To him, suddenly $28 looks like a steal... and despite the price, we've sold a lot of it already.

The salesmen's demonstrator kits came with a big O-ring (about 3.5" diameter, 5/16" thick). We cut it with a razor blade then repaired it with the glue. Afer 10 seconds, it's nearly impossible to pull it apart. Only two people have done so, and both with quite a lot of effort. I think they show that O-ring in the video.

I meant to buy some before I left work Friday, and forgot. There are a few things around here on which I could use it.

That's some pretty trick stuff!
No wonder bodyshops love it. I can't count how many times we'd be set to deliver a car and find out that the washer reservoir (hidden behind the front bumper cover) had a hole or a crack in it. This stuff would've been a Godsend back then.

Picture this:
Bobby and Mary are set to go all the way for the first time, only to have their hopes dashed when Bobby discovers a hole in the Trojan.
Mary frets, worried that she won't be dry enough to sneek past her Mom if they go home now.
Bobby knows he's in for another night of Penthouse Forum.
Suddenly, Bobby gets an idea.
"Hold on Mary, I saw this stuff on TV. I'll have us banging like a screen door in the wind in a jiffy. Nothing will pull us apart."
Tah Dah!

Ahmaaaaaazing!

:)

i wonder how the stuff is on say...a fuel tank....

and doc how far will that 28$ go........reason i as is ive got a old 86 honda 200sx fourtrax that i just cant keep the tank sealed on..yeah the whole bottom is jbweld and it just keeps blistering off

Thanks for taking time to type this out to us before you brought some home and possibly inhibiting your typing skills!!!

I used to use something similar called Tacpac (dupont)with a powder it was great for the things it did work on but this seams like it has fewer limitations on what it works on

I still like my grey duct tape...........:silenced:

Pretty stout stuff tho...............
Wonder how it would work on those heads that I pushed the porting too far?

Well, GroundCloud (:D), if it can be drilled and tapped it can probably be smoothed with a die grinder--it might just work. Hell, if you've already gone too far and ruined a head, what's to lose trying it?

I'm still looking for this stuff locally.
The website says they won't ship it to Canada, either.

I looked while I was in PA in late November, but no luck - although I didn't hit any auto parts stores and such similar places - just checked auto and hardware departments in the stores I happened to be in.

Woot woot.....:giggedy:

Found me some today!! Went into the local jobber I deal with and guess what they had on the counter....Rapid Fix!!! Not cheap...$37 cdn but worth it I think.

Going to use it on a few plastic trim pieces for the wagooon and see how it goes.

Probably get some for the wife's car to throw in the glove box.

Unless he glues the cap on.:shifty:
On her 16th birthday, my step sister for some now forgotten reason, tried to use her teeth to get the cap off a stubborn tube of super glue......yeah let's just say the end result was she couldn't talk for a couple days! :bwuhaha: I still don't let her live that one down! :D

Well I officially used the Rapid Fix today. I repaired some broken pieces from one of my plastic pillar covers in the wagon. You know how hard it it is to repair that hard brittle 42 year old plastic.

I'll post some pics and more info in my "project" thread on the wagon.

Fixed something else tonight with Rapid fix...kids were playing with one of those wind-up recharge flash lights and broke the crank handle....Rapid fix to the rescue.

I was posting about this stuff on a guitar pedal DIY forum and lamented how difficult it was to find it around here... Then I noticed that the website will now ship internationally. Woohooo!!

So, I ordered some.

Now, I just need to remember what I wanted to fix.

I know I'll try it on the passive solar panels for the pool heater.
There's at least half a dozen other broken things that I've refused to get rid of because I know Rapid Fix will fix easily, but I'm not sure that I remember what they are or where they are. :D
