It’s been six years since Dodge launched their Durango Special Services Vehicle, a mildly altered version of their big SUV meant for non-pursuit police use. In that time, the Ford Explorer has taken a huge chunk of police-car sales, while the Charger has dominated the shrinking police-sedan market.
Now, that’s changed, with the official launch of a pursuit-rated, Hemi-powered, all-wheel-drive Durango Pursuit — which has already been “informally” tested at the nationally watched Michigan State Police 2018 model-year vehicle evaluations.
