When Fiat Chrysler Automobiles spins off Ferrari this year, the pot won’t include the 10% of the company owned by the Ferrari family.
“I have never sold and I have no intention of doing so,” Piero Ferrari told journalists Wednesday, according to a Reuters report.
Piero Ferrari is the younger, and only surviving, son of Enzo Ferrari. Piero’s mother was Enzo’s mistress, Lina Lardi. Enzo’s older, legitimate son and presumed heir, Dino, died of Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 1956. Following the death of Enzo Ferrari’s wife in 1978, Piero was officially acknowledged as Enzo’s son and sole heir.
