Edelbrock DP4B intake

J.C. Corbett

or something.....
I've had this intake for a number of years, and decided that it should go on the 383 in my Sport Satellite. It came off the 383 in my totalled 67 383S Barracuda, and it was wrecked in 1970, so that should tell you something of the age of the intake. When I began to clean it, a Chrysler part number appeared through the years of grease. What I need to know is, were they all numbered as such, or only intakes sold through Mopar dealers? I've just never seen one this way, and would love to know. Check out the numbers in the photo.

I've had a few of those intakes over the years, and every one I had sported a Chrysler part number. They were sold through the Direct Connection program before it was even an official entity. The Chrysler part number made them legal for stock-eliminator racing.

Come to think of it, I don't know if I've seen one without the factory numbers.

It's definitely better than the factory square-bore intakes, and you gotta love the caché of the factory number on it.
