EBAY SNIPER HARDWARE . where do you get it ? & how does it work . i have lost bids on quite a few items , because somebody comes out of nowhere in the last few seconds or second and wins the bid .

so does such hard ware exist ? or is it just really good timming on the winners part ?

Yeah I have a piece of hardware that I use to snipe on ebay ALL the time, hasnt failed me yet.

I call it a watch.

I use powersnipe once in a while. It's free for basic service and you can pay to upgrade for "last second" bids.

Generally speaking, I don't like to snipe, but when something is not seeing a lot of action, I prefer not to tip my hand too soon. A sniping tool is great for that. You and your interest to bid does not show up on the radar until the last possible moment.

If an item is getting regular bidding and a normal amount of attention, then I just set my highest price in eBay's proxy service and leave it at that. A snipe is really not effective in this scenario. If someone's got a higher proxy bid in, you're beat no matter what kind of bidding tools you use.

If someone wants to pay more than I'm willing to pay, then they can go right ahead and do it.
