Don't let anyone ever tell you ...

The paint fumes have cleared so I'm
that sixties era Mopars weren't well built.
I've got a 64 Polara convertible in the shop, and I'm replacing the quarters with rust free donor items.
So all the spot welds need to be drilled out.
It's a big job, getting thru those welds.
Along the lower rear behind the wheel, along the wheel opening, and the lower front at the rocker - 102 spot welds!
That's more welds than most newer cars have on their entire bodies!
My frickin' ears are ringing from the sound of the air drill.

Yeah, had the plugs in, but that Snap On drill is awfully loud, and with that many welds ...
Can you say .... headache?

Do they make a muffler kit for it? I had a Mac air wrench thats damn loud also and they had a muffler accessory for it.
It consisted of a thick woven fiber filter that installed over the exhaust port with a slotted washer to hold it in place, worked pretty good.

but wont that rob tourque? [smilie=e:

make the operator work outside ..so it dont ring and echo in the building [smilie=e:

Nodda, I've got a good set of 'muffs, and I wear the plugs underneath.
Don't worry bud, I don't want to go deaf. Too many of my bodymen friends constantly saying "Huh?" convinced me to protect my hearing.
I laugh at the deaf guys in my shop sometimes. I make them wear hearing and face protection in the shop, but if I turn my back - off it comes. Guess they'll never learn.
Beeper, that drill did have a muffler - kind of a fiber thing - but it didn't last any time at all. Made it a little gutless as well.
